Join the student chapters of SLA and ALA on a tour of the studios, newsroom, and library of the National Public Radio headquarters!

Tentative Itinerary:
10:00 – welcome and introduction
10:15 – tour of facilities, including newsroom and studios (although nothing will be taping at this time on Saturday)
10:45 – break into two groups for more detailed information about the reference library and broadcast library
11:15 – switch groups, repeat above
11:45 – remaining time may be used for Q&A, etc.

DUSLA to Host Lubuto Library Project Founder, Jane Meyers

The Lubuto Project is a non-profit organization created to help the thousands of children in Africa who have been orphaned by AIDS, are at risk, and have no access to a formal education, except through the creation of libraries specifically for them. The project organizes the construction of library facilities; the training of staff; and the collecting, cataloging and maintenance of donated library materials.
Jane will be speaking about the experiences she has had founding and running the Lubuto Project, followed by a Q & A session where you will have a chance to ask questions about the project.
