The research group working on WebNet has archived all of its electronic mail messages since August 1994. All mail messages sent to the mail alias (u-u) or cc'ed to the repository mail alias (u-u-gkb) are automatically added to this information space.
You can now access the group memory (email archive) either via the browse mode or via the the query mechanism. You are welcome to add categories, reorganize the mail messages, delete old ones, etc. But please keep in mind that this information space represents the group memory. Mails deleted from here will be lost forever for the group and a violent restructuring and renaming rage of yours might cause other group members to not recognize the structure any more. So please be considerate!
The email archive uses a technique known as Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) to match email contents with free-text queries. The emails returned from a query are rated by their relevance to the query in the LSI semantic space.

Several other email repositories have been established. One of them related to LAN design was created during the design work on a large LAN at Dartmouth. You can explore the history of this work:
| Browse the Dartmouth Group Memory: according to subject line categories or chronological order | |
| Query the Dartmouth Group Memory: using free English text to search the LSI database |
Here is some Help information about the available tools (help) in the email repository.
