Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS)

• Five-year program with three six-month periods of Co-op employment or four-year program with one six-month Co-op

• Often leads to Network Systems and Data Communications Analyst, Network and Computer Systems Administrator, and/or Database Administrator positions - some of the fastest-growing careers in the U.S.

• Accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)*
  

• Includes a diverse background in the liberal arts and sciences

*The iSchool's BSIS was one of the first information systems programs accredited by ABET, the leading American organization for accrediting programs in computing and engineering.

 

The BSIT and BSIS share a common freshman year and the same set of major courses, but they have different upper-level course  specialization requirements.  The structure of the freshman year allows students to embark on a BSIT or BSIS without having to choose between them until later.
